About Us

The Society was originally formed in 1974 and was active in collecting, preserving and researching material about Eastleigh and its immediate surroundings. It disseminated its findings to the public via talks , publications and presentations. Sadly, as the membership of the Society aged, activities began to decline. In 2013 the Society, in conjunction with the Borough Council and One Community, sought interest in reinvigorating the Society. As a result, a ne committee has been formed and work has begun on moving the Society's activities forward. Click here to see our constitution.

We have begun the mammoth task of sorting, classifying and storing the Society's archives. As you will see a web site has been produced and an activities programme is being planned.
